East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) has an exciting part-time opportunity for a RI-licensed Family Physician to join our Health Center located at 6 John H. Chafee Boulevard in Newport, RI. EBCAP’s mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and accessible health, dental, behavioral health, and human services to assist people to achieve their fullest potential. EBCAP, is a private, non-profit, integrated Federally Qualified Health Center and a Community Mental Health Center, and is accredited by both the Health Resources Services Administration and the Joint Commission. EBCAP also provides a number of enriching and supportive wrap-around services to nearly 30,000 residents of the East Bay. Whether it is a program like “Baby Steps” for parents to learn how their child develops or providing financial support through our Energy Assistance Program, our goal is to create the bridge to self-reliance! We care for residents of the East Bay, regardless of their gender, age, race, or income status.
The Family Physician is part of our Accountable Care Organization, providing integrated health and behavioral health services to the residents of East Bay. Our family physicians provide direct medical services including but not limited to a clinical focus on health promotion, disease prevention and routine health maintenance visits and acute care for all age groups. They educate patients regarding care, diagnoses, treatment plan, medications and prognosis. They obtain specialty physician consultation for complicated patients or patients who are assessed to be outside the scope of EBCAP’s practice, and supervise allied health professionals (physician assistant, nurses, medical assistants, etc.) of the care team.
The position requires an MD (allopathic) or DO (osteopathic) degree, and completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine. Licensure through the RI Department of Health, possess DEA registration/RI Controlled Substance Licensure, complete all privileging and credentialing requirements, and possess Board Certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
